With that said, what obscure, semi-obscure, or completely well known track would you like to see as a "dead track of the month"? There is nothing off limits. If it's a 1/2 mile dirt oval in central Alabama, or a 1000 mile public roads course in a large European country, it doesn't matter. Every track is, in its own way, beautiful. Some were more beautiful than others, and even more tracks could be considered beautiful on the inside...I suppose. I know a lot of people have a pet race circuit near them that no longer exists. It's something of a tragedy that these places have gone by the wayside, when the need for them seems to be even greater than in the past. My goal is to make this a monthly thing, with different people submitting a track each month. I'm also willing to do the research and writeup if needed, though.

For your troubles, have something non-automotive; Husker Du at Pinkpop in 1987.

My grandfather had a dirt oval outside if Wing North Dakota. My dad took me to see the remains when is was maybe 10. It was shut down in the 50s from what I remember. I can't find any info about it.

Um.

So, apparently a guy had a pet monkey (1) in his car during a race (2). The monkey got loose (3) opened a trap door in the car used to check tire wear (4), and a pebble flew up and hit the monkey, causing it to lose its mind (5), causing the driver to pit to have the crazed monkey removed (6).

I counted six batshit things with just one incident at that track. That will get it investigated at the very least .

And if it happened today the monkey would be wearing a sponsor's outfit...

The guy who owned the monkey was kind of a sponsor shill anyways, so it wouldn't have surprised me if the monkey was decked out in sponsor stuff back then as well.

However, now it would be a PR nightmare. Back then, the sponsors would have laughed, slapped each other on the back, and gone back to smoking their cigars.
